Zoo Boise introduces discounted rate on Thursdays, welcomes new endangered species

Zoo Boise offers a discounted rate to visit on Thursdays through the end of February 2024. $3 Thursdays start Dec. 7.

This year, Zoo Boise welcomes two endangered Styan's red pandas and a female lion and announces the birth of twin cotton-top tamarins. Additionally, Zoo Boise will be accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums, the gold standard for zoos.

"It's our pleasure to say thank you to the community for their support and keep the zoo accessible to all members of the community through the winter," said Boise Parks and Recreation Director Doug Holloway. "We look forward to updates coming to the zoo in 2024 as we continue the high standard of care our zoo team members provide to each and every animal that calls Zoo Boise home."

Red pandas, snow leopards and others are more active and engaging during winter. In addition, most exhibits at Zoo Boise have indoor and outdoor areas, allowing visitors to see the animals whether they choose to be inside or outside this time of year.
