Nendoroid Doll Clothes Washing Guide MyFigureCollection.net
Edit: This article is for the method I’ve been using to clean mine (with some edited in notes of what is better to do). However a more preserving, well rounded wash for doll clothes is a water and vinegar mixture!
What you’ll need:
-Your Outfit(s)
-Dawn Dish Liquid is what I’ve been using—-A gentle laundry detergent is preferred (I’ll be doing that next time)
-Containers (Enough to sort your colors)
-A Sink
-A Little Patience❤️
Step 1:
Get all your supplies ready!
Step 2:
Open your outfits and sort your colors. Make sure your colors and whites are separate, and your deep colors don’t mix! (Red, Blue and Black have the deepest pigments and can stain when mixed with white).

I’ll be doing my reds together, blues together, and will keep the aprons and socks separated for my own peace of mind. Realistically all whites here could go in one container!
I will be washing the underwear separately without a soak since they’re a blend of white and very light color, I don’t want them to be dyed, or dye the aprons! They’re small enough that I feel fine not soaking them.
Step 3:
Add dish liquid/detergent to your containers. I usually eyeball it based on container size and color depth! Seen below I just put a squirt in each.

Step 4:
Fill the containers with warm water (not hot)! Then add your separated clothes into each container.

Step 5:
Take a few minutes to very gently hold the fabric between your fingers while dunking and swishing into the soapy water. Be mindful of any plastic accessories, as well as buttons and closures.
I start with the deep colored fabrics, putting them in the warm water first, that way they soak while I work on the whites! You’ll visibly see the water color change as you do this! Make sure you open up the clothes as well, unbutton aprons, unhook skirts etc!
*note- I initially said to gently rub the fabric between your fingers. I explained what I do poorly, and have reworded it. I act like I’m handwashing with my fingers, dunking and swishing. I gently push the dyed soap off the fabric between dunks (when needed). It’s not quite rubbing between my fingers, which you don’t have to do at all!

The color can change a lot depending how much excess dye is left in the fabric. Even the whites had the water change!

THESE NEXT TWO STEPS ARE OPTIONAL BUT I ALWAYS DO THEM!
Step 6:
Empty the dyed water out, and rinse the clothes with another round of warm water! (Don’t rub them during their rinses). Make sure your sink is plugged, or you have a bowl or container underneath the water!

Step 7:
Refill the containers with dish liquid/detergent and warm water, you can use less soap this time! I do this so the clothes aren’t soaking in dyed water!
Then let the clothes soak like this for 3+ hours! I tend to leave them to soak while I do other things and come back to them at the end of the day.

Step 8:
After soaking, rinse the soap out of the clothes with warm water. Again be sure to plug the sink or put a container underneath. Then once the soap is gone, rinse with cold water!

Step 9:
Let air dry for several hours/overnight! I lay the clothes out flat on cardboard usually, but any clean surface works!

Step 10:
Dress and enjoy!

I washed my Milla this way 9 months ago and she still has no stains!

I’ll try to update this guide as I alter things, but also check the comments for input from other collectors<3
