In a men’s lightweight prelim fight, Bobby King (12-6), a former Maui resident and graduate of Lahainaluna, lost to Aalon Cruz (11-4) via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27). In the co-main event, Oahu’s Ilima-Lei Macfarlane earned a split decision victory over No. 2 Kana Watanabe, 29-28, 28-29, 29-28. Macfarlane, the former world champion who came into Saturday’s fight ranked No. 3 in flyweight, asked for one last shot at the title, currently held by her former teammate Liz Carmouche.
